JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION

Students of DLF World School celebrated Dahi Handi on the occasion of Janmashtami on 24th August 2016. Lord Krishna was born on Janmashtami Day in the month of Shavan at midnight. This day is celebrated all over India with much festivities by fasting and praying to him. On the following day people rejoice by holding Dahi Handi and Gopal Kalafunction. As Lord Krishna and his poor cowherd friends loved milk, curd and butter kept in high hung handis, so a beautifully decorated handi was hung in the school garden on a lovely backdrop. A group of girls and boys were thrilled to break this handi on the feet tapping musical background. The audience too enjoyed the show. This festival taught them to be friendly and also the value of sharing.
