Van Mahotsav is a widely celebrated event across India and spreading awareness towards its objective is fast becoming the need of the society as the world is falling prey to the greed of human beings who seem to be on a rampage, damaging the green cover of our beloved Mother Earth. Since Darbari Lal Foundation World School aims at grooming its’ students towards becoming environmentally aware global citizens, this year the DeLFites, spread awareness by performing a street play at a nearby mall, Omaxe Connnaught Place. Students sensitized the people present there about the multiple environmental threats that the world is facing today. The street play focused on showcasing few of the issues such as global warming, water shortage, plastic pollution and the rampant felling of trees. This was followed by a heart wrenching performance by the tiny tots, who dressed up as trees and swayed to the tunes of the touching song, ‘Na kaatomujhe, dardhotahai…’ They sent across the strong message that trees too have life and they are our support system. The mindless felling of trees in the garb of urbanization is only signaling an impending disaster. The green crusaders of DLF World School then took the pledge to protect Mother Earth from the alarming environmental derangements and urged the people to do the same.
